New Business Initiatives

Sheboygan business needs a new stimulus to revitalize our cities sagging economy. The city must do everything in its power to provide incentives for new business to locate here and to encourage established businesses to expand and grow.

Incentives such as real estate tax reductions for a set period of time, assistance in constructing sewer and water laterals for new buildings and the possibility of aid in constructing new roads and sidewalks. Policies should be established so that any new business contemplating coming here, or any local businessmen contemplating enlarging his business, would know in advance to what extent the city could help him meet his goals. A firm policy would preclude any possibility of one business being favored over the other.

The purpose of this policy would be to increase the tax base of the City of Sheboygan so as to relieve the property tax burden on tax payers. Past administrations have administered random hit and miss tax cuts which did little to solve the problem in a permanent manor.
